10 Things I Have Learned After 3 Days on the Road

By | March 9, 2017
  1.  Our puppy is a Poop Snob.  If there’s no grass in it, there’s no ass in it.  Really!  WTF?!?!  Must’ve been the couple of months in a normal backyard.  She better get used to this, cuz the inside of our RV is not a poop field.
  2. When you spend 100% of your time with your soulmate, you find a bit of a communication gap.     Yeah, we are each other’s best buddies, but if he’s the only one you are talking to, there’s a whole lotta room for miscommunication.  We are learning to step back and say, “Here is what I am REALLY trying to say.  Do you get it???”
  3. Even a simple meal like spaghetti requires a whole lotta clean up when you don’t have a dishwasher.
  4. We are seeing the  most amazing beauty that God has created in this magnificent country!  Today, we headed down south through Idaho and then Nevada, and ended up in an old  gold mining town.  It’s SO interesting to see a small town like this (Ely, NV) that doesn’t have much commerce.  These are the salt of the earth folks and are living on the minimum.  All friendly, look you in the eye kind of people.
  5. Internet connectivity is EVERYTHING.  Sorry to say this.  I’m a Techno-whore.  The hubs has done an absolutely amazing job of being sure that we had a back up to a back up to a back up.  And so mostly, we have all the creature technological comforts one could ask for.  I’d like to be that person that unplugs and loves life, but yeah, I’m not her.
  6. The RV gets really dirty really fast.  I’m not sure why.  She’s closed tight as we are traveling, but when we open her up after a day’s travel, she’s covered in dust.  A mystery.
  7. It’s all about the apps.  Apps to show us the quickest way.  Apps to show us the route, what the weather will be like, the elevation changes, the weather, etc. etc.  Again, it’s all about the technology.
  8. Camping out at a Walmart is  not all that bad!  Richard made sure that we were able to fully unplug and boondock, so hanging out in the lot didn’t feel much different than being anywhere else.  And the price was right!
  9. Solar Power Rocks.  Now that we are in sun, we are watching the wattage grow and it’s providing us all sorts of power.  Thank you Richard for installing all those panels!!!
  10. So far, this Bel-Air Princess is loving the #rvlife.  Who knew???

I love Walmart too! It could be worse with your puppy, could be taking her outside to poop when it is 20 degrees and snow outside. Safe travels and hope you are not blogging while you are traveling. Enjoy your blogs and did I tell you that I am sooooo jealous!!!!

Be well and safe travels to Richard and you (and the puppy).
